Celebrating Corporate Volunteers
Huge gratitude to the Finance Team from St. Austell Brewery, who took part in a team-building corporate volunteer day last Thursday. We had over 30 volunteers who achieved a massive amount on the site that was the National Dahlia Collection up until last October. The Team quickly got to work weeding all the beds & cutting the edges back in. Some of the weed supressing covers were removed and then beds were planted up. Many hands make light work!! And we had a LOT of hands! Th

Kehelland Apple Juice Scoops 2 awards at Cornwall Cider Championships!
We are so excited to share the news that our apple juice scooped not just one but TWO awards at the Cornwall Cider Championships, Royal Cornwall Show at the beginning of June. Our early, cloudy juice 'Discover Pear' ( a blend of Discovery & Cornish Pear Apple) won a silver award and our late season Jupiter Gold (a blend of Jupiter & Jonagold) won bronze. The comments from the judges were so positive, saying that our juice tasted so bright and fresh, almost as though it had no

Thursday Task Force Becomes Soil to Soul Saturdays!!!
In order to make our taskforce sessions more accessible, we have decided to change them to a weekend day to allow working individuals and families to attend if they'd like to. We will still be focussing on completing tasks that we may not have had time to complete as part of our normal day-to-day horticulture supporting our learners & trainees. Some of our work will not be suitable for small children, so please just drop us an email if you're thinking of coming to a session a

Section Four - Perennials - Plants that come back every year
Meet Martina, Section 1 lead at Kehelland Trust.... This section is responsible for a lot of bench work; growing on our perennial plants from seed right through to sales-ready 2ltr pots and bigger. They are based up in our covered sales area so they get lots of contact with members of the public coming in to buy plants and spend time dead-heading the pot-grown stock and keeping the sales are watered and looking tip-top. All the plants grown in this section are chosen, not ju
