Unlock New Potential: Discover the Hidden Talent Waiting to Thrive in Your Workplace

ree

At Kehelland College, we believe every young adult deserves the opportunity to shine in the workplace. We specialize in providing tailored education and support for young adults aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our mission is to prepare these bright individuals not just for independence, but for meaningful, sustained employment.

To make this happen, we rely on the invaluable support of forward-thinking employers. We're inviting new businesses to partner with us to offer work experience visits, talks and placements that are not just beneficial for our students, but genuinely transformative for your organisation.

Why Partner with Kehelland College?

You might be wondering, "What's in it for my business?" The answer is simple: immense value, fresh perspectives, and a strengthened team culture. Here's how partnering with us can benefit you:

  • Enhanced Team Morale and Culture: Hosting a work experience student from our college often fosters a more empathetic, supportive, and inclusive environment within your existing team. It provides valuable development opportunities for your staff, teaching them new ways to communicate and lead.

  • Boost Your Brand & Reputation: Demonstrate your commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community engagement. Attract socially conscious customers and future employees who value diversity and inclusion.

  • Tailored Support at Every Step: You are not alone! Our programme includes dedicated support staff who provide on-site support to both the student and your team. We help with initial setup, provide ongoing guidance, troubleshoot any challenges, and ensure the placement is a success for everyone. This support significantly reduces the burden on your internal resources.

  • Simple & Streamlined Process: We work hard to make the process straightforward. We'll provide you with a comprehensive vocational profile for each student, clearly outlining their strengths, interests, and any support needs. Our Work Experience Induction Checklist helps ensure a smooth start for both your team and the student.

What Does a Placement Involve?

Our work experience placements are carefully designed to be mutually beneficial. Opportunities can range from shorter observational visits, to longer, structured placements. Typically, students will:

  • Gain practical, hands-on experience by spending one day a week in your workplace for between 12 and 39 weeks of the academic year.

  • Focus on real tasks that meet a genuine business need for your organisation.

  • Continue to develop essential employability skills, English, and maths alongside their placement.

Join Our Growing Network of Inclusive Employers!
